[There's a Tifa holding a Budew in one arm, the little pokémon makes a little happy noise at the camera]

Hey, so I made it to Azalea finally and turns out my travelling partner is in that coma thing. Nurse Joy says he's been like this for a while, so I'm assuming he's doing that thing where you go to sleep for a while and wake up and suddenly you're more knowledgeable about what happens in your future.

That is still happening, right? I don't have to worry about him, or anything, right?

[She gives the 'gear a skeptical look. Then there's some sounds and Tifa looks away from the camera for a moment.]

Also... [She turns the device and now there's a weedle and a caterpie on screen.]

These two little guys have been following me around since a bit before arriving at Violet. They won't go when I tell them too, but they won't fight my Johnny or let themselves get caught, what's up with that? It's nearly been two weeks! I've been leaving them alone but with the way the nights have been recently....

I don't know...

What about you? I'm guessing by your earlier comment that this is a problem you're familiar with as well.

Well, my first year or so of being around, there were so many people around. You got to really talk to a lot of different sort of people. Humans, non-humans, magic, peculiar sciences, ect.

I'm sure there's still a lot that will surprise me, but I've gotten used to the extraordinary...well extraordinary in my perspective.

Twice? I remember an invasion of fossil Pokémon, and then this. The ghosts aren't so bad though! Spitfire has been playing with a Misdreavus and Haunter that keep hanging around the house.

How long ago was that?

Most events I've seen have lasted for a few days, week at max. Hopefully this won't be one of the longer ones.

Well it'd have been over three years now. Nearly three and half.

Yeah. Well...similar things. I remember my first October here there were terrifying illusions and ghost pokémon, too. [She laughs]

There was a sudden influx in oh...what are they called again? The ones that look like little purple balloons?

I hope so as well! While I'm not too worried, I'd rather have my friend conscience. I'm sure you do as well.

[A small pause]

Speaking of which, how long have you been here for?

Of course.

[He nods.]

I've been here ever since May last year... so almost a year and a half.

It's already been a while for you, then.

...Huh...that was about as much time as I was here the first time.

How long were you gone from this world?

[If Shiraishi would have the old Shiraishi's memories, he'd actually remember Tifa but alas.]

Uh...nearly two years. If my math is correct....Although it was six years in my world.

[If Tifa hadn't been gone for six years in her timeline being scared for life, she might've remembered. Although, he looked familiar but seeing as he said he didn't get here until May of last year and Tifa's been gone since November of two years ago...there's no way]

[ ... Huh. ]

You know, I'm not sure if I was expecting a number more or less than that. It seems so... short.

[A small shrug]

I have nothing to really compare that to. I can't say I've been kidnapped to other worlds before. It was pretty strange at first for me, though. The people who'd been there the longest when I arrived had only been there for two weeks or so.

Wow... that's a long time. In both cases.

[Six years in your own world. That would mean University already an even that would be almost done.] If I'd have any memories of the last time I was here, I'd have been gone for half a year, or so they say... but two years in between visits is the longest I've heard of.

[That's more of thought out loud than actually a conversation continuer, to be honest.]

You were here before? And you don't remember...that happened to a friend of mine. He came here about three times and never remembered his previous visit..

[She pauses]

Well, I remember there were a lot more people back then...

Think about it. How long has this world existed? There's plenty of evidence of a long history, and presumably back even further than what we know of. Why did this sort of thing only start recently? Why isn't there anyone from other worlds who came here any earlier?

[Now we're thinking with portals. Or at least, you are. Tifa's so lost. But it gets her thinking.]

Technology maybe?

They're super cute! I've seen them sometimes when I work at the Pokemon centers.

See, that's exactly the sort of perspective I've gained on this sort of thing, which tends to lead to me being a bit confused when people are so... doubtful about what others tell them about their homeworlds. I mean, liars and the insane exist, certainly, but at this point I'm willing to give just about anyone the benefit of the doubt.

They're very cute, but pretty mischievous too! Or at least all the ones I met were. A group of them somehow got their hands on a friend of mine, poor thing was up in the air and scared to death.

You'd think! But [shrug] some people like to keep a grasp on what they're used to. Change isn't always welcome.
