[There's a Tifa holding a Budew in one arm, the little pokémon makes a little happy noise at the camera]

Hey, so I made it to Azalea finally and turns out my travelling partner is in that coma thing. Nurse Joy says he's been like this for a while, so I'm assuming he's doing that thing where you go to sleep for a while and wake up and suddenly you're more knowledgeable about what happens in your future.

That is still happening, right? I don't have to worry about him, or anything, right?

[She gives the 'gear a skeptical look. Then there's some sounds and Tifa looks away from the camera for a moment.]

Also... [She turns the device and now there's a weedle and a caterpie on screen.]

These two little guys have been following me around since a bit before arriving at Violet. They won't go when I tell them too, but they won't fight my Johnny or let themselves get caught, what's up with that? It's nearly been two weeks! I've been leaving them alone but with the way the nights have been recently....

I don't know...

We had an Archen follow us around until we caught it. It turns out he had a crush on my Swablu, so he wanted to be part of our group too.

So they've been following you, and they look like they're planning on doing that for the foreseeable future, but they don't want to be caught?

... I have to admit, that baffles me a little. I'm trying to come up with an explanation, but nothing comes to mind unless... maybe they want your protection, but they don't want an actual trainer?

[Which doesn't make much sense to her, but it's about the most reasonable thing she can think of.]

As for your friend... he's probably okay. It should just be a memory coma. Although...

[She stops there, and shakes her head. No, no point in worrying her.] No, nevermind.

Something like that, I suppose. Forgot that people come from all sorts of world, you'd probably understand better than me.

[Time and different worlds confuse Tifa, to be honest.]

Well, I'll treat 'em like they're mine for now I guess. They're not a bother or anything, I'm just a bit concerned.

Well, it's a bit fuzzy...I remember waking up to finding out I didn't remember three whole days. Seemed like everyone else felt the same. It happened three times...I think? Early June, and then again in...December? I'm not sure, but it was snowing.

I don't know if that's still happening, though.

[She laughs]

That's adorable. Well, I don't see why they can't join me, they're not bothering me. I just...thought it was rather peculiar.

I thought that too. They'll eat the food I give them and stick close enough that I can keep an eye on them, but otherwise I can't seem to get much closer. They won't get close to my Cubone either. But my Budew seems to have befriended them.

I've never heard of anything like this happening before so I wanted to see if anyone else might've known. Thank you.

[She doesn't really seem concerned, just curious]

I'm glad those are still going on! I don't know what I'd do if it turned out that they didn't happen anymore and I was stuck with a comatose partner. [And now Tifa's a bit serious]

I'd like to hear any concerns you might have, though.

Well... [She frowns, considering how best to phrase her thoughts.]

These past couple of weeks, things have started getting strange. Menacing. It does that every year about this time, or so I'm told. I've only been here during this season for one before now.

Your partner is probably just getting his memories, but... tell me, does he seem to be sleeping peacefully, or having a nightmare?

So, then...instead of disappearing, they just leave their human vessel unattended and unmanned for however long it takes them to resolve their business back in the timeline they'd initially left...

...I think I understand now.

[she murmurs thoughtfully]

....I assume, then, when they disappear completely, whatever brought them here is done with them?

If they won't enter your pokeballs, they will have a difficult time following you once you travel more quickly.

Maybe you have something that interests them, ne? Or maybe they feel safer with you with what's going on...

Aha. I didn't realize that was a significant date for any other reason.

[Shiraishi's been through quite a lot lately, but he can finally take a small break from ... running away from ghosts. There are some band-aids all over his face because of his little adventure.]

Yeah, that still happens. At first I though my friend had fallen into one of those, but then a lot of others apparently started falling asleep as well. On top of that, some of her Pokémon aren't here... so I think there is a reason to be worried.

Mmm...not exactly. I've been here before, six years ago in my timeline, though it's been three years here. And when I was first here, I had a friend come back three different times. Although...he never remembered his previous visits.

Very true! And that might be happening sooner rather than later...well...depending on what my travelling partner wants to do, though I'll be visiting Goldenrod.

Hopefully they'll decide what they want to do soon.

Hmmm...I'm not sure? Maybe it truly is when the first outsiders started arriving. It's always just been speculation, but seeing as no one knew what was happening at first...

It's a mystery.

I'm starting to think they're using me for protection. Again, I don't mind, I'd rather keep an eye on them than leave them out there with the way things are going...

Hm...I was worried about that. Yeah, I can confirm that it's happened before too. It seems he might be under that influence then, because he's not have a peaceful rest at all.

Her pokémon are missing? Huh...I wouldn't know if my friend's are but, I don't know what all he has. [She sighs.]

Well whatever is happening, I hope it's not...too bad. You seem to have gone and gotten into some trouble yourself, though. [She nods at him]

Well, if he's been here for a while, I believe he should have all six slots taken? Though there's not much you can do even if you'd know.

[He hasn't been able to find the missing Pokémon and he's gotten himself lost while running and looking and-- Winry is going to be disappointed in him when she wakes up, huh?]

Yeah. ... Me? Oh, I just... happened to be in the wrong place when the ghost swarms started. They weren't kidding when they told us to stay in towns.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to get that crazy. I just managed to avoid any complications, thankfully. You should be more careful. I'm sure whenever your friend wakes up, they'll want you safe.
