I'm sure it didn't take me this long last time! But who knows. [She shakes her head] It's been six years for me! [She hums a bit.]

It still feels really surreal you know? I mean...when I left you were a Marowak. And I had a lot more pokémon. It feels like a dream. And then I woke up to flames and burning and---[She stops walking and cuts herself off, a small shuddering sigh escapes and she looks up at the sky]

I technically met Aerith here for the first time...I didn't know she was scared of the sky and now she's-- [Tifa shakes her head and keeps walking]

I wonder how long it's been for you. Not too long I hope! I remember time working differently over here! I turned sixteen here! [She laughs.] Turned sixteen again when I got back home, though.

Hey Johnny... [Tifa looks down at the 'gear, smiling. Soon enough though she furrows her eyebrows.] Johnny...I let you carry that thing because for whatever reason you really wanted to...don't tell me you wanted to record something... [The little Cubone makes a sounds and Tifa reaches down towards the 'gear] I told you not to turn this thing o--[Off it goes!!]

In Goldenrod. Even the locals know about it by now; anyone there will be able to give you more precise directions.

I'll make sure to visit it when I get there. Wouldn't want to find out that one of my pokémon stayed there waiting for me and I never went.

That would be rather sad. Besides, even the other Pokémon would surely be happy to have a visitor, and to see one of their comrades meet its trainer again.

Truthfully, I have a feeling I'd end up adopting one of them anyways! One that's willing to come with me, anyway.

Finding one of those will be easy. Give them all a smile, and they'll fight for the privilege.

[She laughs.]

That or chase me away!

That would more likely be the owner's reaction, should the fighting become too much.

[She shakes her head, still smiling]

Can't say all of the pokémon I've met liked me as much as you think.

I've no doubt your own team would say that it's their loss. Unless they appreciated not having to share you with others.

Oh Cecil, you sure do know how to flatter a girl.

When one of your childhood best friends is a girl, you learn to flatter or you suffer.

Too true! Growing up, that's something my friends had to learn, ha!

They did so gladly and quickly, I'm sure.

Oh they did! They also learned very quickly that I don't tolerate bullying the weaker kids. Someone had to be the voice of reason and the fist to go with it! [She laughs]

Truly? Why, I could almost feel bad for those poor bullies.

[Except no.]

They learned. Although, I don't know how they turned out. A lot of the boys in my village left as soon as they were old enough to enlist in the army. I managed to keep in contact with one of them, he grew up to be a fine young man.

And I was...recently reunited with another one. He... [She just smiles, after all... Cloud was Cloud]

Ah, the army. There's often nothing more interesting to young men, especially if the community approves of that vocation. Still, having the chance to see two of them again is a good start. Surely the others will manifest themselves, too.

[She's hesitant for a moment and her smile drops slightly. It doesn't quite reach her eyes anymore and seems almost sad.]

I...would like to hope so.

[Mostly because she killed/helped kill so many ShinRa employees that she's worried she might've killed a few of them...]

...Being a soldier is dangerous work, but I've no doubt they were well trained and managed to stay safe. They might even have been promoted to greater duties.

[Not quite the problem she has, but at least he's trying.]

[She smiles because, really. She appreciates you, Cecil.]

Yeah. Oh, but get this. Apparently there's someone here from back from my home. [She laughs] An...enemy of sorts, but he's nice.

A nice enemy? That's not a particularly common combination.

I know! I was rather surprised, myself. Even more ironic, his name is Rude.

[She laughs] He's anything but.

Names often include the wishes parents have for their children. You should be glad those particular wishes did not come true.

[She nods, grinning.]

You know, as selfish as it sounds, I'm pretty happy you're still around.
